While most people have put away their grills for the year you can still enjoy BBQ throughout the fall and well into the football season. The key will be to take advantage of holiday meat sales to get great cuts of beef and pork and to work with the fall climate. If you can do both of these things then you are in for some great BBQ.
The first thing that you will want to do is to figure out which way the wind is blowing. You will want to turn your BBQ or grill away from the wind so that the smoke from your BBQ will blow away from your face and home. This will make tending the BBQ safer, as it will keep flareups from burning your face.
Next you will want to look for great deals on large cuts of meat. You can hit a Kosher butcher to find large briskets traditionally used for Shabbat recipes. This cut of meat works well on the BBQ, especially if you have a smoker or a slow cooker.
What tips do you have for cooking outside during football season? Does anyone have great tailgate BBQ recipes to share or stories about cooking outside during football season? If you do we would love to hear them.
