Believe it or not you are already 1/24th the way through the year 2009. So how have you been able to stick to your New Year’s resolutions so far? If one of your resolutions was to eat healthier and you already fell off the wagon don’t worry. You have plenty of time to climb back on. One easy way you can eat healthier is to infuse your diet with organic foods.
Organic foods have many advantages. The first is that they don’t contain added hormones, antibiotics or pesticides. This means that organic foods are much healthier than non-organic foods, and that they are less likely to cause negative health side effects.
Organic food is becoming easier to find. Produce is perhaps the easiest to find as an organic product. Local grocers usually keep their organic produce grouped together. If you can’t find it ask the grocery clerk in the produce section if they have an organic produce section. If they don’t then check out local health food stores, who usually offer organically grown produce.
Organic meat is another items that you will want to add to your shopping list. Organic meat is healthier to eat than regular meat because the animals are fed on natural vegetation that has not been treated with inorganic pesticides and fertilizers. Also the animals have not been fattened up with growth hormones or fed antibiotics. If you can’t find local organic meat sources look to game farms, like bison farms. These animals are usually certified organic. Not only are organic meats healthier to eat, but they also taste great in traditional Jewish recipes.

If you are trying to come up with an idea for a science fair project why not look into the science of organic food. You can see if organic foods are really better for you, if they taste better or if they have a different chemical makeup.
